About the role
This is a 12-month contract. Summary of Position The Data & AI Solutions summer student will support the IT team within the Innovation and Business Excellence Department. Responsibilities include three intersecting areas: Generative AI and agentic solutions, data solution support, and project coordination. You will help build and test simple AI agent prototypes, assist with basic data discovery and profiling, and contribute to project documentation and communications. Under guidance from senior team members, you will translate clear requirements into small tasks, follow compliance processes, and provide concise status updates.
What You'll Do
Generative AI & Agents Agent configuration: Help set up Copilot Studio agents using templates; update prompts, actions, and connectors as directed. Prototype and pilot support: Run prompt tests, capture results, and document lessons learned; assist with defining simple user stories and acceptance criteria for AI features. Documentation and training materials: Draft internal documentation and training materials (e.g., how-to clips, step-by-step guides, FAQs) Enablement: Participate in cross-functional AI upskilling sessions; contribute to job aids and quick-start guides based on playbooks. Data Solution Support Data analysis: Assist with basic data profiling and documentation; investigate straightforward data issues and capture root causes for review. SQL and tooling: Write and test simple SQL queries for exploration and validation; support basic dbt model updates and Airflow task changes with guidance. Reporting & apps: Build or update simple Power BI visuals and contribute to small Power Apps/Power Automate components using existing patterns. Solutions & Project Delivery Project coordination: Maintain tasks in JIRA/Confluence, prepare meeting notes, and support weekly status communications; track milestones and basic KPIs.
