Must be obtaining BSN and have 1 or 2 semesters remaining following Summer 2027. 10-12 Week Paid Internship for Summer 2027 Hourly Rate $20.00/hr Varied Shifts Depending Upon Department; 72hrs/2wks -Please attach a Resume and Cover letter *In your cover letter, please indicate your top 2 department choices from the following: -Clinic – 8 hour day shifts and Acute Care rotation on Friday evening/Saturday morning with preceptor -Med Surg Unit – 12 hour shifts (rotating days/nights) -Women's Center – 12 hour shifts (rotating days/nights) -Emergency Unit – 12 hour shifts (rotating days/nights) -ICU – 12 hour shifts (rotating days/nights) -Kidney Dialysis – 10 hour day shifts (may include Saturdays with preceptor) -Operating Room (OR) – 10 or 12 hour day shifts, no weekends or holidays -Pre/Post Operative (Same Day Surgery) – 10 or 12 hour day shifts, no weekends or holidays -Long Term Care – 8 hour shifts (rotating days/nights) -Home Care – 8 hour shifts (day shifts with preceptor)

A Brief Overview

Nursing Service at Avera requires all nurses and student nurses to practice at a competent level of nursing care and demonstrate a competent and professional level of behavior in the role. The ANA Standards of Clinical Nursing Practice are exemplified within the position description. The Nurse Clinical Intern, under the direction and guidance of a Registered Nurse mentor, is responsible for utilizing the nursing process to provide nursing care for the patient, assuming responsibility and accountability for individual actions and outcomes of patient care delivered.
