R&D Research Technician Co-op

Position Summary

The Research Technician Co-Op will work under the supervision of a Research Scientist to perform molecular biology and microbiology tasks in a time-efficient manner. The individual will have the opportunity to design and independently execute experiments and contribute to the development of novel diagnostic assays. Primary Duties General laboratory tasks, including PCR master mix production, ordering, media preparation, autoclaving materials, and processing glassware. Bring equipment facilities issues to the attention of the manager for reolution Comply with safety requirements, cGMP, SOP and manufacturing documentation Keep a detailed laboratory notebook documenting experimental goals, results, and conclusions. Clean production equipment or work areas Perform all work in compliance with company quality procedures and standards. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Education, Training and Experience High School Diploma, GED or equivalent Must be actively pursuing a bachelor's degree in biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, or related discipline No previous experience required Preferred Education, Training and Experience Experience performing routine molecular biology techniques, including PCR and gel electrophoresis Experience working with bacteria and/or yeast using aseptic techniques Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) Consistently upholds and reflects the core ethical principles and values that bioMérieux promotes.
