Commercial Summer Internship Program

The Commercial Summer Internship Program is designed to give interns a look at Citizens Bank’s culture and exposure into one of the many commercial banking business lines through project-based assignments, learning curriculum, networking, volunteer opportunities and formal mentorship. Responsibilities will vary based on the group you’re assigned to and will leverage your unique skills and abilities. At the conclusion of the program, high-performing interns will receive early consideration for full-time opportunities within the line of business in which they completed their summer internship.

Opportunities Within Commercial Banking, there are five opportunities in Boston: Asset Based Lending, Commercial Risk Management, Mid Corp PM, SACOE and Treasury & Wholesale Payments.

• Asset Based Lending: The Asset-Based Lending (ABL) team provides financing

solutions secured by working capital assets such as accounts receivable, inventory, and equipment, helping businesses optimize liquidity and support growth. You will work alongside Portfolio Managers, Credit Analysts, and Relationship Managers to support underwriting, collateral analysis, portfolio monitoring, financial modeling, and credit approval processes. The role offers exposure to client interactions, industry research, risk assessment, and commercial lending transactions, providing a comprehensive understanding of asset-based finance and credit risk management.

• Commercial Risk Management: Commercial Banking Risk serves as a first line of

defense, partnering with business leaders to identify, assess, and manage risks associated with commercial banking products, services, and activities. You will support control testing, process documentation, regulatory exam preparation, and report distribution, while contrib
