Position Summary: Clark Nexsen, a JMT Company is seeking a Fire Protection Engineering Intern to join our team. The Fire Protection Engineering Intern will support the assigned design department by assisting with a variety of tasks, including special project assignments and active participation in project design and documentation, to gain practical experience and support their educational development.

Immigration sponsorship or support (e.g. H1B, F-1 CPT/OPT/STEM OPT) is not available for this position, except for qualified candidates eligible for the TN visa classification.

Compensation for this position is $22.00-$27.00/hour, commensurate with experience, education and certifications.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Assist senior or lead Fire Protection Engineers with basic design tasks, including research, simple studies, and layout support
• Help prepare drawings and documents for programming, schematic design, design development, and construction phases
• Assist with construction phase activities, including participating in site visits, supporting RFI responses, reviewing shop drawings, and helping update record drawings
• Follow established quality control procedures and ask questions as needed
• Learn and apply department and company standards and best practices
• Develop basic design, analysis, and technical skills through hands-on experience
• Participate in team meetings and collaborate with team members
• Receive guidance and direction from supervisors and team leaders
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, interior designers, and other multidisciplinary team members
