We offer a hybrid 3-2 work schedule (three days in the office, two days of teleworking) to accommodate the need for flexibility. At this time, Dominion Energy cannot transfer or sponsor a work visa or employment authorization for this position.

Job Summary

Dominion Energy Virginia’s Electric Transmission (ET) department is a seeking motivated, engaged engineering interns for the System Operations Center (SOC). The SOC is responsible for supporting DE’s evolving transmission grid by balancing supply and demand on the Bulk Electric System to keep the lights on. This intern will join the Operational Support & Compliance team within SOC Services. In this role, you will support emergency restoration planning, regulatory compliance activities, operational improvement initiatives, data and analytics solutions, and special projects that enhance tools, processes, and coordination across multiple System Operations teams.

This internship will be located at the Magnolia System Operations Center in Richmond, VA.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

Basic understanding of Electricity and Power Systems.

Equally effective working independently or in a team environment.

Strong oral and written communication skills.

Time management skills with the ability to independently plan and organize work assignments.

Ability to think analytically and solve complex problems.

Education Requirements

Must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in an engineering field (preferred fields include Electrical Engineering with a concentration in power systems or Computer Engineering) from an ABET accred
