The Role: Our site in Aurora, IL is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Co-Op to join our team for the Spring 2027 season. This assignment is intended to be 6 months in duration. In this role, you will support the quality and documentation priorities of the Slurries business unit, working alongside our manufacturing engineers across the mixing, blending, and filling room processes. You will lead a systematic refresh of critical process documentation — SOPs, batch cards, response flow checklists, and work instructions — and support quality investigations using process and quality data. You will finish the assignment with hands-on manufacturing experience, a broad network across engineering, operations, and quality, and documentation and quality improvements that outlast your term. What You’ll Do: Create and update critical process documentation for the Slurries lines — Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), batch cards, response flow checklists, and operator work instructions — and drive them through the review and approval process. Audit existing documentation against current practice on the floor, identify gaps and outdated content, and maintain a prioritized plan to close them. Support quality investigations and root-cause analysis on nonconformances, customer complaints, and scrap/rework drivers, including data collection, analysis, and verification of corrective actions. Analyze quality and process data to identify variation and improvement opportunities, and help build dashboards or reports that make quality performance visible to the team.
