The Role

Our site in Aurora, IL is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Co-Op to join our team for the Spring 2027 season. This assignment is intended to be 6 months in duration. In this role, you will serve as a manufacturing engineer for the Pads business unit, working side by side with our engineers on real production challenges across the milling, lamination, surfacing, grooving, and finishing room processes. You will support continuous improvement and OEE projects, analyze process and quality data, and help implement new technologies on the floor. You will leave with hands-on manufacturing experience, a broad network across operations and quality, and measurable results tied to cost, throughput, and product quality.

What You’ll Do

Serve as a manufacturing engineer for the Pads business unit, supporting the milling, lamination, surfacing, grooving, and finishing room processes. Support continuous improvement (CI) and OEE improvement projects — identifying loss sources, running trials, and helping implement countermeasures on the production floor. Collect and analyze process and quality data to troubleshoot issues, quantify improvement opportunities, and support root-cause investigations. Assist with the evaluation and implementation of new equipment, tooling, and technologies, including documentation, work instructions, and operator training support. Partner closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, and Quality teams, and present project status and results to the Pads leadership team. Document project outcomes and deliver a final presentation summarizing results, cost savings, and recommendations at the end of the assignment.

Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial,
