The Role

Our site in Chaska, MN is seeking a Manufacturing Production Documentation Co-Op to join our team for the Spring 2027 season. This assignment is intended to be 6 months in duration.

This role will be focused on improving, standardizing, and aligning manufacturing documentation—especially for injection molding processes. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams (quality, molding, machining, operators) to identify gaps, resolve inconsistencies, and update technical documents such as SOPs, work instructions, mold setup sheets, process parameter records, and validation protocols. The role blends technical writing, process understanding, and operator-focused clarity, helping ensure documentation is accurate, consistent, and easy for production teams to use.

What You’ll Do

Document Review — They audit existing molding documents (SOPs, work instructions, setup sheets, process parameters) to find outdated, unclear, or inconsistent content. Process Mapping — They observe molding operations on the floor, map out steps, and ensure documentation matches real‑world practice. Template Standardization — They help build or refine templates, so all documents look and read the same across molding, machining, and quality. Cross‑Functional Collaboration — They work with engineers, technicians, operators, and quality teams to clarify instructions and resolve discrepancies. Mold Setup Documentation — They update mold setup sheets, ensuring correct part numbers, tooling, parameters, and photos are included. Process Parameter Alignment — They verify that documented molding parameters match validated settings and update records when needed.
