Community Engagement & Event Coordination Intern Student Worker (CSLP FWS)

Position Summary/Purpose: Grand Canyon University (GCU) maintains relationships with nonprofit organizations identified by the IRS as 501(c)(3) by virtue of their charitable programs. The collective mission of 501(c)(3) organizations in the Phoenix Valley is to improve the quality of life for community residents or to solve particular problems related to those residents’ needs. GCU maintains a partnership with ZimZam Global located at 1134 E Irma Lane, Phoenix, AZ, 85024. ZimZam Global trains leaders, to plant churches, through discipling children. The CSLP student worker’s work schedule is dependent on the hours of operations and needs of ZimZam Global; however, CSLP student workers may not work more than 20 hours per week during the academic year (i.e., fall/spring). If eligible, CSLP student workers can work during summer (i.e., May – August). CSLP: This position has been reviewed and approved as Community Service as defined by 34 CFR 675.2(b). Per 34 CFR 675.2(b), community services are defined as, “Services which are designed to improve the quality of life for community residents, particularly low-income individuals, or to solve particular problems related to their need.” These services must be open and accessible to the community. As an FWS-CSLP approved position, its services will be offered to non-GCU community members (i.e., local residents). Primary Responsibilities /Accountabilities/ Essential Functions

Assist in organizing OneMeal Food Packing Events, helping expand this initiative beyond Scottsdale Bible Church to other churches and organizations across the AZ valley and USA. Coordinate GCU Global Events, AZ local events, where we engage new GCU students, potential ministry partners, donors and share ZimZam Global’s vision. Meet with
