Job Title: Quality Engineer Intern FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Department: Quality Engineering Reports to: Quality Manager

GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PURPOSE

As a Quality Engineer Intern, you will get broad exposure to our Quality Engineering organization and leadership team. Interns will identify, work on, and present a project that will benefit you as well as the plant facility and our organization. This position is administrative support driven. It collaborates with all parties in the Quality Engineering department, and performs functions, and ensuring products, processes, and systems meet established quality standards and customer requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Functional & Technical Skills Assist in the review and analysis of Nonconformance Reports (NCRs) and corrective actions. Support root cause analysis and problem-solving activities using tools such as 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagrams, or Pareto Charts. Participate in supplier quality activities, including reviewing supplier documentation and assisting with incoming inspection processes. Assist in the development, review, and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions, and templates. Support the collection and analysis of quality metrics (e.g., defect rates, first-pass yield, rework percentage). Contribute to continuous improvement projects (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, 5S, Kaizen events). Assist in preparation for internal and external audits (ISO 9001 or other applicable standards).
