Merchandising Intern (Summer 2027)

BASIC PURPOSE: The Merchandising Intern will support the Merchandising team through analysis, reporting, and project work designed to improve product assortment, pricing, promotions, and overall category performance. The intern will gain hands-on experience with Love’s merchandising business by working with category and cross-functional teams to evaluate business performance, identify opportunities, and support initiatives that enhance the customer experience and drive profitable growth.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & ACTIVITIES

Assist the Merchandising team with category analysis, reporting, and business performance reviews. Analyze sales, margin, pricing, promotional, and product performance data to identify trends and opportunities. Support product assortment and category initiatives by gathering, organizing, and evaluating relevant business data. Assist with pricing and promotional analysis, including measuring results and identifying opportunities for improvement Support category managers with preparation for business reviews, vendor discussions, presentations, and special projects. Conduct competitive and market research to identify merchandising trends, product opportunities, and changes in customer preferences. Partner with cross-functional teams such as Supply Chain, Operations, Marketing, Finance, and other business areas to support merchandising initiatives. Develop reports, dashboards, presentations, or other materials that clearly communicate findings and recommendations. Gain exposure to the product lifecycle and key merchandising processes, including assortment, pricing, promotions, vendor relationships, and category performance. Visit Love’s locations, as appropriate, to gain an understanding of store execution, product placement, merchandising standards, and the customer experience.
