Overview

Summer Interns complete a 10 week internship centered around professional development, career growth and building the necessary skills to succeed. Summer Interns participate in projects and department initiatives that accelerate career growth and play an important role in building the future of the Bank. As an Intern, you will gain exposure to other departments through guest speakers and industry leaders and a built-in network with peers as well as priority consideration for full time opportunities throughout the Bank.

Department Description

Wilmington Trust is a nationally recognized leader in fiduciary services. Wealth Management Trust Services is entrusted to administer generations of family wealth within personal trusts on behalf of M&T Bank, Wilmington Trust, NA, and Wilmington Trust Company as trustee. Individual Trust Officers, working in accordance with Wilmington Trust’s policies and procedures, are an integral part of Wilmington Trust’s heritage of fiduciary responsibility.

Primary Responsibilities

Complete duties and responsibilities of an entry-level professional nature specific to assigned area of the Bank. Ensure activities adhere to established internal policies and external regulations as applicable. Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management. Design, implement, maintain and enhance internal controls to mitigate risk on an ongoing basis. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management. Promote an environment that supports belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand. Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable. Complete other related duties as assigned.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $28.00 per hour. The successful candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.
