Role Description Symphony is looking for a driven Security Placement Student to join our team. In this role, you will gain hands-on experience in protecting critical infrastructure, learning how modern secure communications operate, and supporting our security operations, risk management, and compliance initiatives. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to help monitor, assess, and strengthen our security posture while developing core skills in modern information security practices.

Key Responsibilities

Security Monitoring & Incident Support: Assist the Security Operations Center (SOC) team in monitoring alerts, analyzing logs, and triaging potential security events. Vulnerability & Asset Assessment: Support routine vulnerability scans, assist in tracking remediation progress, and help maintain accurate technical asset inventories. Identity & Access Management (IAM): Help audit user permissions, access controls, and multi-factor authentication systems across internal tools and cloud environments. Security Awareness: Help draft internal security communications, phishing simulations, and educational materials for employees. Compliance & Risk Support: Assist with gathering evidence and documentation for third-party security audits, ISO/SOC 2 certifications, and internal risk assessments. Automation & Scripting: (Optional) Write basic scripts (Python, Bash, or PowerShell) to automate repetitive security tasks and logging processes.
