Internship conversion position for the Structural Dynamics and Environments Department (SDED) within the Vehicle Systems Division (VSD). The position is being offered within the Flight Loads Section in SDED. The selected candidate will be required to work full-time, on-site at our facility in El Segundo, CA. What You’ll Be Doing Perform structural dynamic analyses and evaluations of launch vehicle and spacecraft loads for all phases of flight Conduct analyses and investigations to solve a broad range of structural dynamics problems requiring advanced treatment and/or coordination within the department and other technical disciplines Support a wide variety of launch and space programs in the defense and civil sectors. Provide technical support and expertise to program offices and external customers in the discipline of structural dynamics Develop simulation tools and processes to solve structural dynamics problems Evaluate analytical predictions versus flight sensor data to develop recommendations to improve loads analysis methods Duties, responsibilities and activities may change, or new ones may be assigned as needed Training and mentorship will be provided What Corporate Skills You’ll Bring Strong written and oral communication skills Must work well in a team environment Possess organizational, time management and project management skills Demonstrate flexibility and ability to adapt to changing or
