Summer Intern - Process Chemical Engineering

About the role

As a Chemical Engineering intern, you will report to the Chemical Engineering Manager and be located at our Columbia, SC facility. This is a paid full-time onsite position for the summer, May - August 2027.

Key Responsibilities

Establish and update the key Process Safety Information (PSI) for the Process Safety Management (PSM) covered processes and department operations Developing Equipment and Instrument Specifications, reviewing and developing improved Preventative Maintenance procedures and templates, scanning and entering information in Leading 2 Lead database Approve production operating procedures, Job Safety Analysis, work standards, maintenance of equipment procedures, Preventative Maintenance (PM) procedures and PM frequencies Support department activities to design new products, modify existing designs, improve production techniques, and develop test procedures for manufacturing operations, ensuring that you follow the Change Control Process (CCP). Help develop an electronic database/library containing historical and current technical articles. This database/library should also contain experimental studies and reports associated with the production/metallurgy of zirconium or zirconium-related subjects/processes. Additionally, contribute to and maintain this database/library.

Qualifications

Pursuing a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering Completed Sophomore year of college Experience to support manufacturing and production processes and equipment

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The hourly rate for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $25.40 to $29.00 per hour.
