Role description

Arcadis is looking for an Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Intern with an interest in the municipal water/wastewater industry to join our growing Resilience team in Columbus, OH for Summer 2027.

As an Instrumentation and Controls Intern, you will collaborate with our experienced team of professionals, providing technical and design consulting services with a focus on instrumentation, controls systems, and associated network and communications infrastructure for municipal water and wastewater conveyance and treatment facilities.

As an I&C Intern, you will work in a collaborative environment, focusing on evaluating and designing control system solutions that align with client needs.

Role accountabilities

• Prepare technical memorandums and develop comprehensive design criteria
• Craft SCADA system architectures, communication system and network designs,

process and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), SCADA network diagrams, and process control functional narratives.

• Create specifications, control schematics, panel layout diagrams,

interconnection diagrams, and other I&C design documents

• Coordinate with process, mechanical, and electrical engineers assigned to the

project

• Perform engineering services during the construction phase, which involves

reviewing equipment and software submittals, analyzing shop drawings, and responding to contractor RFIs (requests for information).
