What You Will Do

As a Mechanical Design Engineering Intern at Collins Aerospace, you will: Design mechanical components and assemblies with a focus on manufacturability, reliability, and maintainability. Prepare, modify, and release CAD (NX) drawings to ensure the fit, form, and function of mechanical designs. Evaluate materials and parts for use in new designs. Operate within a team environment, working cross-functionally to provide input on design solutions and actively participating in design reviews. Perform design studies to validate project proposals and support development activities. Conduct engineering calculations to determine the size and strength of components, solving design problems and validating analytical designs. Utilize engineering tools such as Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) to validate and optimize design content.
