Overview

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Transportation Planning Intern to join our Atlanta, Georgia office. Your Role Assist with traffic forecasting, operations, and crash assessments with supervision Create graphics, maps, spreadsheets, databases, or tables to assist with technical report preparation Participate in project site assessment activities, pre and post field work activities, site assessment, and data processing Utilize software such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, ArcPro GIS, SYNCHRO, etc., organize files, and use standard business writing to contribute to technical report production Assist with public engagement activities, including but not limited to the ability to use social media to research or promote activities, speak to a group, or communicate with individuals of the public, special interest groups, etc., and create informative materials

About You

EXPERIENCE: No experience is generally required if accepted into an Associate's or Bachelor's degree program in a related technical field. EDUCATION: Must have completed 90 hours towards a Civil Engineering, City and Regional Planning, Environmental Engineering, or other related degree from an ABET accredited program by the start of the internship (Summer 2027). SPECIAL SKILLS: Applicant should have experience reading a map and/or construction plans. Experience with traffic operational analysis is desired but not required.
