Early Career Pathways - Geoscience Internships

About Woodside Energy We know great results come from our people feeling valued, getting the support they need to reach their full potential and working in a positive work environment. We recognise that enduring, meaningful relationships with communities are fundamental to maintaining our licence to operate.

Technology and innovation are essential to our long-term sustainability. We are growing our carbon and new energy businesses using technology to reduce emissions and the carbon footprint of our products. We are working to improve energy efficiency, offset emissions, reduce emissions intensity and explore options for lower-carbon energy. Woodside led the development of the LNG industry in Australia and is applying this same pioneering spirit to solving future energy challenges globally.

The Geoscience Summer Internship Program is part of Woodside’s USA Early Career Pathways initiative and is designed to build a sustainable pipeline of future engineering geoscience talent. The program provides geoscience graduate students, pursuing an MS or PhD, with hands-on, real-world experience supporting Woodside’s Exploration and Subsurface Units - through project-based work aligned to business priorities. Interns will gain experience conducting subsurface evaluations in support of Woodside’s US/International Exploration business or Production Assets.

Interns will work alongside experienced geoscientists and technical professionals, gaining exposure to Woodside’s operating environment, safety culture, subsurface standards, and values while developing technical, professional, analytical, and leadership capabilities. The internship serves as a primary feeder into Woodside’s future graduate and early-career programs and supports Woodside’s broader workforce and capability planning strategy in the United States.
